ALMAGUIN — The Almaguin Highlands Secondary School (AHSS) senior boys’ basketball and senior girls’ volleyball teams may not have captured a title, but had strong showings at the provincial championships.

Welland’s Ecole Secondaire Jean-Vanier took the title.
The boys’ basketball team competed in Port Hope.
The team, despite solid play, lost both its regular play match-ups.
The Highlanders went on to the consolation showdown, but lost the game, eliminating them from the tournament.
Academie Catholique Mere-Teresa, from Hamilton, took the title.
Highlanders Kurtis Lawes and Lucas Dermott were consistent top scorers throughout tournament play.
