Big city changes aren't welcomed by reader
Feb 06, 2008
To the Editor:

I was very upset when I sat down to read last week’s Almaguin News and read of all the columnists saying good bye to their readers as that was their last column. The news that they (previously covered) is to be sent on to one who did not lose their job.

Big city Metroland does not seem to grasp what a community paper should contain. We do not want change. It was a much better paper a few years ago.

Another complaint I have is that the print for the ads is too small. Senior citizens cannot tell what is for sale or rent.

I guess the calendar of events page is a good idea, but the local writers were doing a good job of getting all the events in the paper.

Maybe if I live long enough I will see one paper with two columnists: one for East Parry Sound and one for the west. The rest of the paper could be ads and whatever news you think us country bumpkins need to know or understand.
