Who's full of hot air?
Jan 16, 2008
To the Editor:
I am writing in response to recent articles in the Almaguin News Jan. 9 edition.
I am known as, in the press, the “one reluctant owner tucked in off the highway.” Or, as the Reeve of Armour puts it, “all the eggs in one basket and emergency services will suffer.”
My family has owned Mike’s Service Centre for 23 years. We have and always will provide 24 hour a day, seven day a week, 365 day a year service to all emergency services.
As I write this letter we are running on generator power, looking after the good people of our community and beyond. We will continue to do so seven days a week, 365 days a year until gobbled up by the big conglomerates of today’s society, which we call progress.
I have personally discussed these matters with the OPP, fire, ambulance and local councils and assured them we will provide any emergency services 24/7. It’s odd to read a quote suggesting that a fire truck, ambulance or the police can’t leave town because of low fuel.
Makes you wonder who’s full of hot air.
