Tasers need investigation, not emotional editorials
Nov 30, 2007
To the Editor:

If you ever get selected for jury duty I hope I am one of the 12, because the world needs protection against the likes of you.  Clearly you make decisions based on emotion not facts. God, I hope you don’t hunt around here.

I am another person who seldom writes you guys, but your editorial needs correction.  I don’t like the idea of tazers but studies and experts say they are a relatively safe form of non-lethal force. That being said — and seeing the same amateur video that sent you off the deep end — when someone starts flailing a piece of furniture around a public place and acting irrationally, they put themself in harm’s way.

Over the years force not intended to cause death or grievous bodily harm does just that. It requires investigation and sometimes consequences, which is exactly what is happening.

Suggesting that this is a murder is as stupid as saying Mr. Dziekanshi’s relative or friend who didn’t to pick him up on time should be charged with criminal negligence.

Has anyone seen the autopsy report yet?
