South River-Sundridge Airport a necessary stopover
Nov 28, 2007
RE: Letter of Nov. 7, from Mr. William Douglas titled “Why is one man's dream costing taxpayers so much?”
I was disappointed to read Mr. Douglas' letter, criticizing Mr. Barry Morris for his selfless committment to keeping the South River-Sundridge Airport operational.
I fly out of Gore Bay on the Manitoulin Island, and for the past 10 years have always planned on stopping for fuel at the South River-Sundridge Airport while flying to and from the Algonquin Park area.
The excellent refueling and maintenance services provided by Mr. Ron Cooper were an incentive to land there whenever possible.
I sincerely hope that Mr. Douglas may re-think his position and see the airport for the positive contribution that it represents to your two communities and the surrounding area.
Mr. Douglas has a good command of the English language. I would urge him to put those talents to a more positive use.
