Pegg's Mountain Road renovation means a bumpy ride
Nov 28, 2007
One could assume that your news staff are only interested in the construction of Hwy. 11 and the interchange to Burk’s Falls during the past few weeks.

For approximately the past two months, Pegg’s Mountain Road has been under renovation. It would appear that this renovation is now complete, as no further work has been done in the past two weeks.

Due to this renovation, we now have old culverts at the side of the road — or are they works of art? — and many potholes that get worse by the rainfall and day. (There are) ditches that are now without guard rails and are so deep that if you happen to go into one your vehicle will go end over end, or will roll over sideways.

With the attention these roads get in the winter, it is expected that this will happen on more than one occasion, if not daily.

With the attention that this road received for two months, the rest of the roads in Ryerson Township did not receive any attention. The ruts and potholes that occurred were recently covered with gravel, it rained, and the ruts and potholes are now back as per usual.

When will this township start to have an acceptable standard of road maintenance?
