RE: Letter to the Editor in the Nov. 7, 2007 edition titled ‘Why is one man’s dream costing taxpayers so much?’ by William Douglas.
I very rarely respond to Letters to the Editor or editorials, however, I must reply to this letter in the event anyone would actually believe what Mr. Douglas is saying.
There is no secret agenda by any councillor who is a member of the airport committee or council. There is a meeting of the airport committee every month and every council other than Joly meet twice a month. These are open meetings and any member of the publiiamount is in the annual budget of each municipality, which every taxpayer has an opportunity to see and voice concerns about at the annual budget meeting before the buget is passed by a bylaw. However, I can tell Mr. Douglas that the Sundridge portion of the 2007 airport budget is $6,676.25. This represents 25 per cent of the total budget.
