On Eagle Wings: In season of change, put trust in Christ

Our world is one of constant change, as we can see in the glorious beauty of nature. Every day now more and more trees are exchanging their summer garments of green for gaily decorated robes of autumn. It’s exciting to watch; to feel a part of it while breathing in the crisp morning air.
Our own lives change daily as well. How swift is the process, it seems, of the newborn baby becoming an exploring toddler, an inquisitive child, a ‘knowledgeable’ teenager, a more knowledgeable adult! We look through photo albums and wonder how it all went by so fast.
There are changes in technology, in politics, in the status quo. The constant changes challenge, hurt and confuse us, and yet they make our lives so much more interesting. They are the way life was ordered; for, as the Bible says in Ecclesiastes 3:1, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven.”
In the changing seasons of life, however, there is one constant that can be depended upon: change. Change was created to keep life from becoming monotonous, was created by a God who is constant and steadfast. He does not change, so that He can be trusted totally. By keeping His hands upon this world, order is kept in the midst of change. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” (Hebrews 3:8). This consistency of God makes Him the necessary – and perfect – point of reference for our lives, helping us find the way we are to follow. After all, He is not a God of confusion, but one of peace and of comfort.
In the midst of the joyous beauty of this season of changes, why not put your trust in Christ, the God of constants, and find for yourself another sort of beauty and peace never before experienced?
