Sports thriving at AHSS this year

Once again this year, athletics at Almaguin are thriving. Our golf team has already travelled to Bracebridge for the Muskoka–Parry Sound Championship. We did very well, with a couple of students moving on to the Georgian Bay level.

The senior boys’ soccer team recently defeated St. Dominic’s. The juniors weren’t quite as lucky, but they put up a great fight losing by just one point.

Both soccer teams also had the honour of playing an exhibition game against a group of international students from North Bay, where they also came out triumphant.

Although we were not able to put together a senior girls’ basketball team, the juniors are doing us proud. They have won all of their games against Parry Sound, Gravenhurst and Bracebridge.

As well, the senior boys’ volleyball team has a flawless record for games this year. The juniors have also had a strong start.

We give the best of luck to our teams as they prepare to play our biggest rivals, the Huntsville Hoyas.
