New lottery helps hospital
Sep 14, 2007
ALMAGUIN – The Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Foundation announced last Thursday a new lottery aimed at helping organizers raise funds for the hospital.

The Cash or Car lottery will give the grand prize winner the option of $40,000 cash or a brand-new Honda CRV EX from Jason Armstrong’s Huntsville Honda.

“We had terrific community response to the cash draw earlier this year and we wanted to continue that momentum, so we’ve come up with something bigger and better,” explained Ray Ward, chair of the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Foundation. “Giving away $50,000 in total prizes is very exciting!” he added.

In addition to the grand prize of $40,000 or a Honda CRV EX to be drawn on Dec. 21, there is also a $5,000 early bird draw on Oct. 1 and five separate draws for $1,000 from Nov. 12 to Dec. 10.

There are only 5,000 tickets available for the draw at $25 each or five for $100. “We’re thrilled to be able to partner with the foundation in this very worthwhile initiative and help raise funds for our local hospital,” said Jason Armstrong.

“The CRV EX is an exceptional vehicle and it will make an awesome Christmas gift for some lucky person. We’ll be showcasing the CRV EX at Huntsville Muskoka Otters games this year, beginning with our first home game.”

Also partnering in the draw is More-Fm Radio in Huntsville who will conduct all the draws live on air just  before the news at 12:30 p.m., starting with the early bird draw on Oct. 1.

“Ian and Margaret Byers and all the staff at More Fm have been fabulous supporters of the hospital and we’re delighted that their radio station will be hosting the draws,” explained Debi Davis, executive director of the foundation.

Tickets are also available at the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Foundation office in the Howland Building right next to the hospital, or by contacting the foundation at 789-0022, Ext. 492. Ticket purchasers are reminded that when you go to the foundation office to buy tickets, parking is free.
